In bars and clubs, sometimes people are involved in fights even though there are bouncers. It sounds weird because bouncers should be able to prevent fights, but in fact, fights sometimes happen in bars or clubs. So, why can it happen? The reasons vary as you are able to read below.

Why People Fights in Clubs Even When There Are Bouncers

Consuming Alcohol or Drugs

If someone consumes too much alcohol, there are a number of bad effects such as interfering their judgement, increasing aggression, lowering their ability to control their emotions, etc. According to an article on Live Science, people who regularly suppress their anger tend to fight when they are drunk. Not only alcohol, consuming drugs can also lead to bad behaviour so that it can contribute to violence as well.

Miscommunication

Miscommunication and misunderstanding can happen in a bar or club, especially when people are drinking alcohol. They may interpret something differently and it may lead to a fight.

Noisy and Crowded Environment

As you know, when you are in a bar or a club, the situation is noisy, crowded and even chaotic. Because of this situation, it can make people uncomfortable or can lead them to misunderstand so that conflict may occur among the visitors.

Ego and Pride

Some people have too much egos or fragile self-esteem. When they are in a bar or a club and they feel that they are challenged, fights can happen. They may want to show that they are more powerful than others whether it is to impress their girl, friends, or to fill their personal void. They may also want something like adrenaline, power, admiration, fear and respect from others so that they behave badly that lead to fighting with others.

Personal Conflicts

When someone goes to a club or bar and they meet someone who makes them jealous or even they had a problem with the person in the past, they may think that it is time for them to express their anger so that fighting can happen between them.

Lack of Self-Control

There are some people who find it difficult to manage their anger. So, when they are in a bar or club and the situation is noisy and crowded that makes them stressed, they tend to react violently.

Personal Problems

Some people go to a club or bar when they are having their own problems. They are probably just fired, having economic problems, having issues in their jobs or any other problems. If so, it may affect their behaviour and emotions when they are in a bar or club. So, it is possible that they fight with other visitors.

Provocation

There may be some people who give offensive comments to some other visitors and the comments or gestures that they do escalate tensions among them so that fights happen.

Competition

In a bar or club, let’s say some people play a competitive game such as pool or darts. Sometimes, it can cause fights because some of them may not accept that they lose. Gambling can also be the reason why people fight in a bar or club. When someone cannot accept that another person wins the gambling or when someone catches that the person cheats in the gambling, it can trigger them to fight.

Cultural or Group Dynamics

Fights in a bar can happen because of cultural tensions or rivalries between different groups.

Inadequate Training of Bouncers

In a bar or club, there are some bouncers. Even so, fights cannot always be prevented by them. Some bouncers may lack training or experience so that instead of stopping a fight, sometimes they may accidentally escalate conflicts.

Lack of Attention of Bouncers

Bouncers in a bar or club sometimes may not realize that there is an argument between visitors. The argument may lead to a fight. It happens because bouncers do not pay enough attention to the visitors. If they pay attention to visitors, the bouncers may be able to prevent them from fighting.

Aggressive Bouncers

Some bouncers are aggressive. They may see themselves as enforcers rather than protectors of customers so that sometimes they are aggressive to consumers that make consumers also react to them more aggressively.
