After Dahmer was incapacitated, Scarver then beat Anderson using a wooden stick at the showers. Once he had fatally beaten and wounded the two, he returned to his cell and informed a corrections officer that he had been assigned by God to do it.

Dahmer was reportedly dead an hour after arriving at the hospital, while Anderson was declared dead two days later after doctors took him off life support. After conclusive evidence was found, Scarver was sentenced to two life sentences for the murders of Dahmer and Anderson.
