3) Rockefeller Brothers Fund

Prison Policy Initiative (PPI) was awarded around $100,000 for 24 months by Rockefeller Brothers Fund. This Foundation funds PPI on April 18, 2022 for general support, democratic practice and elections and voting rights.

On April 18, 2020, Rockefeller Brothers Fund awarded PPI around $100,000 for 24 months for general support, democratic practice and elections and voting rights. This Foundation organization also awarded PPI for 24 months approximately $106,000 on July 23, 2020 for general support, democratic practice and elections and voting rights.

PPI was awarded by Rockefeller Brothers Fund around $150,000 on June 19, 2019 for 24 months for general support, democratic practice and elections and voting rights.

4)  The Open Philanthropy Project

This organization recommended a grant of approximately $300,000 over two years to the PPI to generate reports and data analysis which are very beneficial for campaigns by criminal justice reform partners across the country.

Many groups in campaigns, in writing and in public testimony have used the report of PPI on the overall state of incarceration, women’s and youth incarceration, the state of parole and probation, unemployment and homelessness among formerly incarcerated people, among others. Additionally, PPI plans to use those funds to produce its annual publication and to support organizations with data and research needs.
