What is the Difference Between JPay and Securus?
Initially, JPay was a stand-alone information technology company as well as a financial service company focused on the prison system. JPay can be accessed at JPay.com and of course to use the services on JPay, you will have to create a JPay account first. Make sure to know the inmate number ID if you want to create your account on JPay.

Securus
Securus can be accessed at securustech.net. Just like using JPay, you also have to create a Securus account in order to access any services on it. To create a Securus account, you also need to know the inmate’s number ID.
Well, you can access JPay and Securus separately, since they are in the process of merging their services to help you stay connected with your loved one in prison. Over time, they will be moving facilities over to use Securus eMessaging since they continue to improve the experience for you to communicate with inmates.
Additionally, JPay email is not currently moving to Securus eMessaging. You may receive an email to the personal address used as your JPay username to alert you to this change, if the facility of an incarcerated individual that you’ve emailed on JPay is moved to eMessaging.
Can You Use Both JPay and Securus at the Same Time?
However, if the facility has been moved over to the new Securus eMessaging, you can only use Securus to send and receive messages with those individuals. Then, the email service will no longer be available for those individuals through JPay.
If you send emails to other inmates who have not yet been moved over to Securus eMessaging, you definitely can continue to send emails and purchase stamps for those individuals through JPay.
