TDCJ has an online visitation portal where it is used for people to schedule visitation appointments with an inmate. So, before you visit your loved one, you are able to schedule it first online through this portal. How do people register to schedule a visitation appointment with it? The instructions are explained below.
Registration Instructions for Scheduling a Visitation on the TDCJ Portal
Here are the instructions to register a visitation on the TDCJ visitation portal.
- The first thing that you have to do is to access the Online Visitation Portal that can be accessed at here.
- On that portal, you have to select on the “Create an Account” link.
- And then, you need to enter your email address in the provided field and then hit the Submit button. Note that if the screen shows “Request Submitted”, it means that your email has been sent. However, if you are taken to the Login Page, it means that you have to go back to the page and then you need to enter your email address.
- After you see the “Request Submitted” on the screen, then you have to check your email. In your email, you have to look for an email from TDCJ Visitation.
- Open the email from TDCJ Visitation and then copy the key and follow the link or copy and paste the link in your browser.
- After following the link, you will be in a page where you have to enter your email address and the key and then you also have to create a password.
- Now, you have to login by using your username or email and also your password.
- In this step, after you login, you are required to answer all of the background questions. After answering all of the questions, then you have to select the box next to the statement which says “I have completed the above questions” and also hit the Submit button.
- Then, you have to complete your profile by selecting the “Edit My Profile” link.
- The next thing that you have to do is to enter your information in the Visitor Profile form. There, you will see the yellow fields which means that those fields are required to fill out. when you enter your phone number, make sure that the format is like this: 123 456 7890 where you have to leave a space between groups of numbers.
- After filling out the form completely, then you may look up an inmate and then you have to add them to your Profile. To enter the inmate, you need to select the “Add Inmate” button.
- The pop-up window will appear and then you are able to search by either a TDCJ or SID number.
- Then, if the result of the search gives you the correct inmate, you have to choose the relationship from the dropdown menu and then select on the “Request Approval” button.
- You will see that the relationship appears in the Pending Approval section until the relationship is approved by the unit.
- After your request is approved, you will see that the relationship will move to the Verified Inmate Relations section.
- The Schedule Visit button will display as units begin using the online visit scheduler.
- On the scheduling page, you have to make all of the selections including the visit type, available dates, available times, and number of adults and then the next step that you have to take is to select the box next to the statement that says “I have reviewed my selections and wish to schedule this visit”. After that, select the Schedule Visit button.
- After the visit has been scheduled successfully, you will see the information about your visit schedule on the screen such as the name of the inmate, SID, TDCJ, unit, visit type, date and time.
Can We Cancel the Visit?
If you have made the schedule to visit an inmate, but then you cannot do the visitation because of some reasons, you may wonder whether you are able to cancel it or not. Well, you are able to cancel the visit by logging in to your account any time. If you just want to login for reviewing the schedule, you can do that as well.
