What Happens If a Securus Account is Closed by the Owner?
If you no longer need your Securus account, you surely will close your Securus account, right? If your Securus Account is active, you will be able to receive video calls, emails and more from your loved one in prison.
Otherwise, if your Securus account is closed or deactivated, you can no longer receive phone calls, emails and others from your loved one in prison. If you close your account, you will not be charged for monthly fees that you usually pay for a Securus Debit account.

It’s important to note, Securus does not charge a fee to close an account, but Western Union handing fees would be applied when picked up. A refund will be issued by check via the US. Postal Service mail in 2 – 3 weeks.
How to Close Your Securus Account?
If you no longer need your Securus Account, it’s a great time for you to close your Securus account. No worries! It’s pretty easy to close your Securus account and they promise to make it relatively easy.
Here’s how!
- First, you must log into Securus Online. You may not be able to use the app, instead you should log into your Securus online account.
- Then, you can select and manage a prepaid account. This option can be found under Advance Connect. Here you will find:

- Account Number
- Available Funds
- Account Status
- Account Relation
- Manage Prepaid Account
- Add Subscription
- After that, you can choose ‘Close Account’ when you choose Manage Prepaid Account.
- Last, you can wait for your refund.
If you pay Securus using a valid credit or debit card, the money would be applied to the last card number you used. If your card is no longer active, the payments would be mailed to you. Of course, you have to follow 2-3 weeks for it to be processed.
