There is a thing known as the AdvanceConnect account in JPay. This one makes it possible for an offender to call only a person. If you are the one that funds this account, it means you will be the only one that can be called by that offender. In other words, there will be no way for that offender to call another person aside from you, the one who funds their account.
If your loved one is an offender and you want to fund their AdvanceConnect account so that they can call you, it is a must for you to register your phone number. By registering your phone number, you will be able to get a pass code that is useful to fund the AdvanceConnect account of your defender.
Before anything, it should be noted that not every service is available for every facility. If you want to find out if the facility where your offender is in allows this service, go to the Availability and Pricing page at https://www.jpay.com/PAvail.aspx.
After ensuring that the facility where your offender is in allows this service, you will have to register your phone number first to be able to fund their AdvanceConnect account. Registering your phone number can be done by calling (877) 800-5729. By calling the number, your number will be registered by a Correctional Billing Service agent and you will be handed with your pass code. Later, this kind of code can be used when you want to fund AdvancedConnect account of an offender.
Once your phone number has been registered and you already get your pass code in your hand, now you can fund the AdvanceConnect account of your offender by following the following guide:
- The first thing that you need to do is to go to the official website of JPay at jpay.com.
- When you are on its homepage, click Phone Time that is located on the Navigation menu.
- Then, click Buy Prepaid Time that is found in the Friends and Family AdvanaceConnect box.
- After that, choose the number that you want to use in the Choose account list on the AdvanceConnect page.
- In the next step, enter the pass code for that number.
- Do not forget to click Continue after entering that number.
- Now, you have to choose your payment method, which can be done by choosing a previously saved card from the Select card list. Not only that, another option is to click Use a new credit/debit card. Do it if you want to use a new card. If you choose the latter, you will be asked to add billing information for the new card.
- The eighth step is to enter the amount of money that you want to send to the offender in the Enter Amount field.
- Make sure to click Continue after that.
- Lastly, click Submit in the Payment Verification box after making sure that the information is correct.
