Getting Notified of Offender Custody Status Changes in VINELink – Here’s Guide

Apparently, VINELink offers some custody status notification options, victims are able to select how they want to be alerted. Such options include Phone/TTY, email, text message, and in-app notifications.

How to Get Notified of Offender Custody Status Changes in VINELink

Phone/TTY

After you register to receive phone (or TTY for the hearing impaired) notifications, then VINE will call the phone number you have provided when there is a change in an offender’s custody status. The types of custody changes will vary depending on the state or facility where the offender is located. When you receive a phone call from VINE, please listen to the message, then submit your previously selected PIN followed by the pound (#) key. Submitting your PIN will let VINE know that you received the call and will stop VINE from calling you again about this particular status change. Thus, you do not register a phone number which rings to a switchboard. If you do not answer a notification call, then VINE will leave a message and continue to call you back until you submit your PIN, or until a predetermined amount of time has passed. This timeframe may vary from state to state, however, it is usually between 24 to 48 hours

Email

After you register to receive email notifications, then VINE will email the address you provided when a change in the offender’s status has occurred. The types of custody changes which trigger notification emails will vary depending on the state or facility where the offender is located. You are going to receive one email per status change. Most states do not need a PIN for email notifications. Please add the following email address to your address book to prevent VINE email notifications from being blocked by your spam filter: do-notreply@globalnotifications.com.

Text message

After you register to receive text message notifications, then VINE will send you a text message when an offender’s status changes. The types of custody changes which trigger notification texts will vary depending on the state or facility where the offender is located. You are going to receive one text message per status change. You may be needed to make a 4-digit PIN for text notifications.

In-app notifications

After you register to receive in-app notifications, then VINE will send you an in-app notification when an offender’s status changes. The types of custody changes which trigger in-app notifications will vary depending on the state or facility where the offender is located. In-app notifications are going to be stored under the notification dashboard indicated by the ALERTS icon in the VINELink app. If you are using the mobile app, and have agreed to receive push notifications from VINELink, then you are able to choose from various settings for displaying the push notification banner. These notifications can be received from your mobile device and via web experience.
