The Government of India can issue several types of passports such as Ordinary Passport, Official Passport, and Diplomatic Passport. During the last few years, demand for passport-related services has increased. Well, at this time, we will explain how to apply for a passport through the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK).

Applying for Passport Seva Kendra – Here’s Way

There are some steps to apply for a passport through the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK).

Here are steps to do:

  • At the first step, visit the official website of the Passport Seva Online Portal. Simply, you can do via this link: https://portal2.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/user/RegistrationBaseAction?request_locale=en
  • Once you are at that Passport Seva Online Portal, you can create your account by following the “New User Registration” instructions. Please provide your details, such as your name, date of birth, email address, and create a username and password.

  • After creating your account, then you can login and fill the application form. At the homepage of the Passport Seva Online Portal, just click on the “Existing user Login” link. Please enter your registered Login Id and click on the “Continue” button.
  • To start applying for a passport, now click the “Apply for Fresh Passport/ Re-issue of Passport” option.
  • The next step, you must fill in the required details in the form and submit.
  • Now, schedule an appointment by clicking the “Pay and Schedule Appointment” option. The available time slots will be shown. Also, to schedule an appointment, you must make an online Payment. You will be able to make online payment by using Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard and Visa), Internet Banking and SBI Bank Challan.
  • After scheduling an appointment, you must print the application receipt by clicking the “Print Application Receipt” option. It contains essential details such as your Application Reference Number (ARN) and appointment date and time. For your information, now, you do not need again to carry printout of the Application Receipt. You can show an SMS with your appointment details during your visit to Passport Seva Kendra (PSK).
  • The last step, on the appointed date and time, you can visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) along with your original documents.

Some things to note:

  • Only emergency and preapproved cases that can visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) without making an appointment earlier.
  • The applicants below 4 years of age must carry the recent passport (size 4.5 X 3.5 cm) with white background.
  • If the applicant does not visit the Passport Seva Kendra within 90 days from the online form submission, then the resubmission of the application form is required.
