Friends or family members will need to set up an account at GettingOut. The process includes confirming their email address and phone number. Both email address and phone number go through a verification process. After being verified, friends or family members will become a Telmate verified contact for inmates. Also, friends or family members are going to receive an email from GettingOut when an inmate requests them as a contact. Just follow the email constructions for verifying contact.
To schedule a GettingOut video visit: After friends or family members have a GettingOut account, then they are able to suggest a time for the video visit with their inmate. They need to wait for the inmate to confirm, and then log in at that time. Whether you are at one of the custom video visit stations at your facility or in the comfort of your home, you will be able to enjoy this more intimate and personal way to connect.
Schedule a GettingOut Video Visit for The First Time – Here’s Way
Here is a way to schedule a GettingOut video visit for the first time:

- At the first step, you are able to log in to www.gettingout.com and deposit funds.
- After you log in to your GettingOut account, then you are able to schedule a visit by clicking on the Visit link or the Contacts tab.
- Please search for your friend by selecting their facility, selecting whether they are an adult or juvenile, and typing in their name.
- Now, you are able to click the Search button and find an inmate you want to visit.
- Please click on the Schedule Visit button.
- You are going to see some different options to visit depending on what the facility offers. You will be able to visit at the facility or remotely from home.
- Please choose a date from the calendar or click the Today button.
- Also, choose a convenient time to visit.
- Do not forget to choose the length of your visit. And, you are going to see how much the visit will cost.
- Please click the Select Visit Time button, and then click Accept and Continue.
- It is always a good idea to test your microphone and webcam before you start your actual video visit. Simply, click the OK button.
- Now, you are able to click the Start button. You are going to know the test is successful when you see yourself on camera and your microphone is working.
