The security level of Clayton Transitional Center is minimum. The capacity is 376 and it houses adult male offenders. According to the Georgia Department of Corrections page, this transitional center was constructed in 2002 and it opened in 2004. On that site, it is also explained that the mission of this transitional center is to help offenders to make a successful transition back into the community by giving them social and employment skills.
There are two units where unit one accommodates all orientation and phase I residents. In unit two, advanced Phases II & III residents are accommodated. For your information, the facility meets ADA requirements.
Offenders here become permanent workers in sanitation, food service, barbering, building maintenance, laundry, vehicle maintenance and groundskeeping.

- Academic Programs including Literacy Remedial, General Education Diploma, and Adult Basic Education
- Counseling Programs including Work Adjustment, Pre-Release, Health Awareness, 12-Step Group, Employment Readiness, Odyssey courses, BASIC World of Works, and Anger Management
- Recreation Programs including General Recreation
- Religious Activities Programs including Bible Study and Various Worship Services
- Vocational/ OJT Programs including Maintenance, Food Services, Laundry and Barbering.
