Buying the Phone Time on JPay, Here’s How!
If you add funds to the phone time account on JPay, it will allow an offender to call anyone available on their approved callers list. Before buying the phone time, make sure you have chosen the correct inmate/offender for phone calls service. To select an inmate, you can go to the JPay homepage and select the inmate/ offender you want in the Inmate/Offender List.
Here’s how to fund the Phone Time account!
- First, you need to go to the JPay homepage.
- On the Navigation menu, you can click ‘Phone Time’.
- After that, click ‘Buy Phone Time’ in the Add Funds to Phone Account box.
- In the ‘Choose Offender’ list, you need to choose the inmate/ offender you want to fund.
- In this step, you need to select your payment method by choosing a previously saved card from the ‘Select card’ list or click ‘Use a new credit/debit card’ to use a new card. Here, you will be required to add billing information for the new card.
- In the ‘Enter Amount’ bar, make sure to enter the amount of money you want to send to the inmate/ offender and then click ‘Continue’.
- In the ‘Payment Verification’ box, make sure to verify the information is correct and then click ‘Submit’.

How Does JPay Phone Time Work?
JPay allows an inmate to make phone calls to their family after their family or friends add funds to his/her account through the Friend and Family AdvanceConnect (Prepaid Phone Time) account. With the Phone Time account, inmates will be able to call anyone on their approved caller list.
If you add funds to the inmate’s AdvanceConnect account, it means that you allow them to call you and only you. Certainly, you should be on their approved caller list. If the phone time balance is not available, your loved one will not be able to call you.
How to Register for Phone Time Funds?
If you want to send funds to your loved one’s AdvanceConnect, you may need to register your phone number first. To register your phone number, you can call (877) 800-5729. After that, a Correctional Billing Service agent will register your number and give you the pass code. Sure, the pass code here will be used to fund an inmate’s AdvanceConnect account.
Talking about fees, it will vary depending on the origin of the payment. You can see the different fees that are added to your phone time purchases on the Fee Schedule page. To check the fees schedule of phone time, you can go to the JPay homepage and click ‘Phone Time’ on the Navigation menu. Then, click ‘Fee Schedule’ on the ‘Phone Time’ menu.
To check your phone time purchase, you can check the phone history by going to Navigation menu and then click ‘Phone Time’. After that, click ‘History’ on the Phone Time. You can then click on an item confirmation number to see the billing statement for the purchase in the ‘Purchase History’.
