So, this transitional center focuses on providing various programs and services that can help inmates to go back to the community after they are released.

Macon Transitional Center is one of the transitional centers in Georgia. It has a minimum security level and it serves adult male inmates. According to the Georgia Department of Corrections, this transitional center was constructed in 1993 and opened in 2008. The capacity is 156 inmates.
Cited from Georgia Department of Corrections, Macon transitional center has a mission to house inmates in a safe and supportive setting that can create opportunities for positive change and reinforces moral behavior and meaningful employment where it facilitates suitable community housing and successful citizenship in the community where they go back. The host facility is Central State Prison.
This transitional center houses 52 triple-bunk beds. There are 12-inmates who are given a task to the Fleet Long-term Maintenance Program and there are 6 inmates who are given a task to the Centers Long-term Maintenance Program for Sanitation, Food Service, Grounds Keeping, Building Maintenance, Barbering, and Laundry.

- Religious Activities including Chaplain Counseling Services, Bible Study, and Worship Services
- Vocational/ OJT Programs including Barbershop, Food Service, General Maintenance, Laundry, and General Clerk.
The programs which are provided above are designed to overcome issues that may have contributed to an inmate’s criminal behavior and also to give them skills and resources that can be important for them to have productive life after they are released from the prison. In addition, these programs are also expected to be able to decrease the possibility of recidivism.
