Getting Your Login ID for the Passport Seva Portal: Here’s How!
When you attempt to log into the Passport Seva portal but cannot remember your login ID or your birthdate, you really need to get information about your account first. Well, there are two ways to get your login ID for the Passport Seva portal, including:
Way 1: Check Your Email
After you’ve created a Passport Seva account, you’ll receive an intimation e-mail containing your user ID and your birthdate. As long as your email used to register for Passport Seva can be accessed, you can still check the same email and retrieve your user ID and your birthdate.
Otherwise, if your email cannot be accessed and you cannot remember your user ID, you may need to create a new account for Passport Seva. And, make sure to save your credentials to log into the Passport Seva portal on some sort of note. So, if you forgot it, you can still get it on your note.
Note: If you did not find the intimation email once selecting the “Send a message to my registered email ID” option when attempting to login, you may need to try checking the Spam folder of your email account to check if there is any email from Passport Seva.
Way 2: Use My Hint Question
In addition to checking your email to retrieve your login ID for the Passport Seva portal, you can also take advantage of “Use my Hint Question” option when trying to unlock your account. But sometimes, the question and answer on the hint do not match, and you’re required to re-enter for details.
Before taking this option to retrieve your Passport Seva account information, you should know first that it can only be used if you have selected the “Hint Question” on creating your Passport Seva account. However, the answer on the hint question is case-sensitive, and you really need to enter it the same way it was entered when creating your Passport Seva account.
What If You Forgot Your Password When Logging into Passport Seva?
You can recover your password if you accidentally forget it when logging into the Passport Seva portal. To do so, you can perform the following steps:
- On the Passport Seva Portal , you can click “Having Trouble Logging in?” link.
- On the following page, you need to enter your “Login ID” and “Date of Birth.”
- Then, select an option from one of the dropdown lists:
1. Use my Hint Question
This option will require you to enter an answer for the “Hint Question” that you’ve entered when registering for Passport Seva. After you’ve provided the correct answer, you will be required to enter a new password of your choice.
2. Send a message to my registered email ID
If you select the option “Send a message to my registered email ID,” a link to recover your password will be sent to your registered email ID. It will usually be valid within two hours of the request’s initiation.
After that, you’ll have to log into your registered email ID and click the link to recover your password. If you do not receive any email from Passport Seva within two hours, you may need to reset your password again. If more than that, the link is expired, so the Password Reset email link is not working.
