Catawba County Correctional Facility was originally built in 1980 and serves as the medium prison office in Catawba County. The prison is located at 100-B South West Blvd., Newton, North Carolina, and has at least three jails and prisons.

With a population of more than 156,000 people, it shouldn’t be hard for anyone to find out who’s in jail in Catawba County. As of 2023, the Catawba County Detention Facility provides an inmate roster to search for the information of inmates incarcerated there.

Finding Out Who’s in Jail in Catawba County Jail: Here’s How!

It’s pretty straightforward to find out who an inmate is who is incarcerated in the Catawba County Jail. There are at least three methods to search for the information of an inmate kept in this jail. To do so, you can just use the following methods:

Method 1: Through the “Who’s in Jail” Feature

“Who’s in Jail” is one of the features that shows you the inmate roster. You can access it via the Catawba County Detention Facility website here. On the “Who’s in Jail” page, you can see a list of inmates who are currently housed in Catawba County Jail.

To find out which inmate you’re meant to visit, you just scroll the page down until you find him or her. If you search by name, you need to notice that the inmate’s name is usually shown from last name to first name. For example, if an inmate’s name is “Chelsea Allen Creel,” her name on the inmate roster would be “Creel, Chelsea Allen.”

To make sure the inmate you’ve found is correct, you can click the “View” button to see his or her face. If correct, you can find some information about the inmate from the list, as follows:

  • Address
  • Age
  • Charge
  • Bond Amount

  • Court Docket

Method 2: Make a Phone Call

In addition to doing a search for an inmate through the inmate roster, you can also make a phone call to the representatives in the Catawba County Detention Facility at (828) 465-8999. After you’ve dialed, you can tell them directly to find out whether the inmate you mentioned is still in the facility or not.

Of course, they may allow you to wait for a moment to search for the inmate you’re looking for. If found, they may confirm the inmate’s full name. They will then inform you of the inmate’s record, such as birthdate, address, ID number, booking date, court date, charges, division, court role, and court event.

When is the Time Allowed to Visit an Inmate in the Catawba County Jail?

Catawba County Jail also sets the rules for inmates’ family and friends to meet in person. The guests would be allowed to meet an inmate for about two 45-minute onsite video visits each week. The visits should be scheduled anytime between 8:15 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
