Who Can Make Securus Inmate Calls?

In most facilities, you are going to have to be on the prisoner’s approved telephone list. When an inmate is admitted to prison, they will provide a list of phone numbers to the jail staff. You may not be on that list if they did not have your number at the moment, but you are able to include it in a letter you send to an incarcerated person.

The inmates are able to use Securus or any other phone service to call:

  • Family
  • Friends
  • Support groups
  • Legal representatives

If you are one of those categories, you have to know that conversations with the inmates are recorded, thus avoiding talk about the crime they have committed or any other incriminating or sensitive details.
