With JPay, you’re allowed to send a message to your loved one in prison. To send a message to an inmate, you definitely need to buy stamps first. If you already purchase a stamp, you can then compose a message and send it to your loved one. Generally, inmates will receive their email within 24 to 48 hours.

However, if you have sent a message to an inmate, but there may be something that you don’t want to tell them, you may look for a way to unsend your message. But, can you really unsend the message that you’ve sent? If you really want to know the real information about it, you can dive into our post below. Here you go!

Can You Unsend a JPay Message You’ve Sent to an Inmate?

Unfortunately, we cannot find the information whether you can unsend your JPay message or not. However, we think that there is most likely no way to unsend a message that you have sent to an inmate, since there’s no option to do it.

After you send a message to an inmate, they will directly respond to your message due to the fact that they don’t have access to the internet. Your message will be received by the inmate according to a schedule set by their facility. Well, your messages are also subject to the same screening and delivery rules that apply to traditional mail.

Instead, you can still check sent messages on the Sent page. Here’s how to do so!

  • Go to the JPay home page.
  • Then, select ‘Email’ on the Navigation menu.
check your sent emails in jpay
  • On the Compose page, you can select ‘Sent’ on the Email menu.
on the Email menu, select Sent.
  • Here, you can also select on an individual letter row to see the letter as well as any attachments.
  • If you want to delete a message, you can select an individual letter row on the ‘Sent’ page.
  • On the Sent letter details page, you can select the ‘Delete’ button to remove the message and then select ‘Yes’ on the confirmation pop-up. Of course, the message will be deleted from the ‘Sent’ list.

That’s how to check and delete messages on JPay.

It’s important to note, you can also select ‘Prev’ or ‘Next’ to see the previous or next letters in the Sent list on the Sent letter details page. You will also find your sent messages in the ‘Sent’ box roughly 15 minutes once they are sent.

Since you cannot find ‘Unsend’ or also ‘Cancel’ option to cancel your sent messages, we think that you cannot really unsend a message that you have sent on JPay. So, make sure to always preview your message before you send it to your loved one in prison.

Why Can’t You See the Emails Tab on Your Account?

If you want to check your emails on JPay, you may not see the ‘Email’ tab after you have logged into your JPay.com account. However, this issue can be caused by the following things:

  • The inmate’s facility doesn’t offer email.
  • You’ve not chosen the right inmate from the drop-down list on your Home Page.
  • The inmate has been transferred.
  • You might choose the wrong inmate when setting up your JPay.com account.
  • The inmate has been prohibited from sending or receiving emails by the facility staff.
